Christmas Party with Father Jack

Christmas Party at Saint Patrick's Church

Every year we have a Christmas party with the members of the congregation at Saint Patrick's Church in Canonsburg, PA. It is so much fun!  We have soooo much food and a wonderful Egg Nog Punch that Father Jack makes from his own recipe.  It is so creamy and delicious!  The children have such a great time being with family and church friends.  There are many trees and nativities.  Aren't they lovely?

Sugar Hill Christmas Trees in 2018

Sugar Hill Christmas Trees in 2018

Starting our tour today in the Tennessee room are three trees flanking the window that overlooks the swimming pool in summer.  On the left is Smoky Mountain Christmas full of red and black ornaments and ribbons, in the middle is the Martha Stewart tree full of handmade ornaments through the years from family and friends.  On the right is the Farmhouse Christmas tree.  It is black and white.

The Coke polar bears are so cute!  They really make this snowy
tree an over the top design!
Coca-Cola Santa just finished his rounds and is ready for a Coke and a nap!

This tree is full of unique Coca-Cola ornaments collected over many years.

Candy Cane Cookies are a family tradition!

Famous Peppermint Candy Cane cookies!

We make this one every year.  How about y'all?  These are refreshing treats after a yummy Christmas Dinner.  Kids love to help roll out the long pieces of dough too.

We use an easy way to break the candy canes up...put them in a ziploc baggie and grab your rolling pin and crush those canes.

Here is Betty's recipe link.  Hers is by far the most tasty we've tried over the years.

Enjoy!

Merry Christmas to y'all!

Snow from Heaven on my birthday!!!

The frost is on the pumpkins

Can you believe it? I'm so happy it's snowing today! My pumpkins were graced with the frosty white sparkles this morning. I wanted to share with everyone.

They are a happy bunch even though it's freezing cold!

I am certain that my Mama and Daddy sent this snow from Heaven just for my birthday!  I love you Mama and Daddy! Wish you were here to celebrate with me!

Getting Ready for Halloween!

Tricks and treats...costumes and scares-we are ready, read on if you dare!

We love fall and Halloween! It's a lot of fun to decorate the house and pick out the kids costumes. We are making these adorable gifts today for the kids.  It's so simple but so cute!

Start with some Halloween paper.  We have a ton of scrap Halloween paper left over from some scrapbook albums.  We are using those scraps so we don't know the name of the paper companies.  Check in any craft store and you will find lots of designs.

Cut paper to fit inside the frame of your choice.  It is easiest to do this by using the insert that come with the frame.  We get our frames at the dollar section at Michaels.

Next carefully cut out the plastic covering inside the opening.  Insert your paper and close the back.

Turn the frame over and using any sticker, plastic 3-D sticker, felt design, etc. place it on the paper using mini pop dots.  We purchased our plastic stickers at Michaels in the Halloween section.

Looking great on the candy bar!

Done!  Five gifts for Nana's Halloween buckets for the Fabulous Five!

Happy Fourth of July!!!!

Canonsburg Fourth of July Parade

We had a great day at the Canonsburg Fourth of July Celebration Parade! Watching the Synergy Dancers was fantastic! The weather was perfect and we enjoyed thanking the military for their service.  For our picnic we are swimming, making crafts, and eating!  The food is so fabulous this year.  We are having hot dogs, hamburgers, potato salad, cole slaw, cucumbers and onions, All American cherry pie, SunButter cupcakes, and star Rice Krispie treats!  Did I say we are eating??

Thank you to www.somewhatsimple.com and The Baker Upstairs for this awesome cupcake recipe! It is a huge hit and we had fun making them as a family! Thank you! God Bless!

Lots of Veterans were in the parade.  It brought tears to our eyes.  My picture was taken by the Observer Reporter newspaper from Washington, Pennsylvania.  I was so proud to be in the newspaper!

Thank you to all veterans for your service!

We wish you the best Fourth of July! God Bless America!
